Stabilization of the Hip and Pelvic Complex

This presentation will discuss dynamic stabilisation of the hip-pelvic complex along with the somewhat contentious issue of whether the sacroiliac joint can become ‘unstable’. Physical examination procedures said to help establish the degree of pelvic stability are presented. The role of the pelvic girdle musculature in both normal and dysfunctional states is scrutinised, in order to provide the clinician with potentially beneficial approaches to ergonomic advice and therapeutic exercise for this commonly problematic region. The tests and exercises will then be elaborated upon in the afternoon workshops.
