Academic Programme 2010
The year 2010 marks the conclusion of the ‘Bone & Joint Decade’ and finds Chiropractic bigger and stronger. Both in Europe and North America, Chiropractors have participated in the formation of guidelines for low back and neck pain, making sure manipulation got the place it deserved, as one of the most valuable and documented forms of treatment.
Our academic programme reflects on the contribution of Chiropractic in the ‘Bone & Joint Decade’ and it will touch upon goals, achievements and opportunities. Keynote speakers like Scott Haldeman, Alan Breen, Allan Terrett, Donald R. Murphy, Brian Nook, Alan Jordan, Richard Brown, Rickardo Fujikawa and many more will be present to share their thoughts on where Chiropractic is standing at the moment and how it should progress from now on. A world-renowned figure in musculoskeletal medicine, Karel Lewitt, will also join us to share his lifetime’s experience! Together with many prominent speakers on Chiropractic topics, like David Byfield, Haymo Thiel, Joyce Miller, Michelle Wessely, Jane and Jonathan Cook, Neil Osborne, Tom Greenway, Scott Middleton and others, make this convention the biggest so far in speaker numbers.
At the same time, many clinical topics will be presented again this year, in order to meet the needs of the field Chiropractor. Topics like:
- Impaired Posture and Function
- Spinal Stability
- Sporting Activities of the Young and Older populations
- Imaging of Sporting Injuries
- Chiropractic Care for the Elderly
- Management of Groin Injuries
- Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for the Lower Extremity
- Osteoporosis
- The use of Supplements
As well as topics on safety issues like:
- Patient Assessment for the most serious Complications of Manipulative treatment
- Best and Safe Care
- Screening Athletes for the Prevention of Injuries
and many more, we hope will attract the attention of every delegate.
Together with some technique sessions like:
- Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS)
- Dry Needling
will make this convention again a very interesting and valuable educational event.
For the first time this year, we will be also presenting interesting actual cases. They will be presented in an interactive way, triggering audience participation, thus making it a valuable clinical learning tool. You could even bring your own interesting case along and see what our panel of experts has to say about your diagnosis and treatment...*
Don’t forget our research paper presentation and research awards, which have now been increased to three:
- Best Clinical/Practice-Based Research (€2000)
- Best Experimental Research (€1000)
- Best Paper from New Researcher (€500)
For more information regarding the call for papers, please see the "Call for Papers" Section at: www.ecunion.eu/default.asp?pid=277
